WHAT IS A GROUND MEASUREMENT STUDY?
It is a ohmic resistance study of the grounding and lightning rod systems that exist in an installation in order to verify that these systems are fulfilling the values that the Norma Oficial Mexicana (expedited for Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social, NOM-022-STPS-2015, Static electricity in work centers – Security conditions) request. This norm request that the resistance measurement study be carried out at least once a year, checking the grounding and lightning rod systems in order to prevent static electricity risks as well as atmospheric electric discharges.
How is a measurement study performed?
A measurement study gets performed using the Falling Method of potential or of 62%, which requires a spade terrometer with valid calibration in which the ohmic resistance measurements is done.
A photographic report is delivered and it has to contain this information:
Measurement equipment used description.
Measurement method description.
Record of the measured values of the ohmic resistance with photographs.
Record of the continuity in connection points to ground.
Conclusions about fulfilment of the norm and recommendations.
Measurement protocol signed by client’s staff.
Copy of the calibration certified of used equipment.
Our personal is highly qualified and our equipment has valid calibration certified and is top best quality.
